James Hare

James Hare is one of Britain's oldest manufacturers of interior fabrics, wallpapers and home textiles. The company was founded in Leeds in 1865 by the English entrepreneur James Hare - originally a small factory producing worsted wool and woollen fabrics.

At the beginning of the XX century James Hare grew rapidly and became a big family business and the world's largest supplier of the famous Scottish tweed Harris, which to this day is considered a national treasure of Great Britain.

In the 1930s the company was the first in its home country to install a teletype and answering machine. The introduction of advanced technology becomes a brand policy. All subsequent decades the reputation of James Hare only grew and production expanded, covering by the 80s silkworms and even bridal couture.

In 1999 the factory launched its interior line. The brand boasts the widest range of silk fabric colours, with over 160 different shades.

Today James Hare produces 36 collections of fabrics and wall coverings in various materials and exports to 34 countries. James Hare has had the honour of decorating the English Government House and the Royal Court.
